Leadership Team

steve paul ★ General Manager

Steve started his restaurant career in 1989, working under Craig Barnum, & Cameron Mitchell at the 55 at Crosswoods Restaurant in Worthington after serving in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked at the 55 for six years, during which time he was involved with every front of house position.  In 1993, he was voted employee of the year by his management team. He left the 55 Restaurant Group in 1995 to continue working with Barnum at his first purchased restaurant, Oscar's of Dublin. Steve worked as a bartender, server, and supervisor until 1999 when he was promoted to General Manager & kept that position until 2006. He then moved to Tucci's - another Barnum restaurant - as General Manager from 2006- 2010.  After leaving the restaurant business for 6 years, he realized his passion for the hospitality industry and returned to CLB Restaurants in 2016. He worked as Assistant General Manager at the Grandview location before being named General Manager in October 2017. 

Steve enjoys his free time hanging out with friends, traveling, and checking out the local restaurant competition. He also enjoys running, biking, and exploring the disc golf courses in Columbus and the surrounding areas. Please don't hesitate to ask for Steve when you are in Grandview. He is a people person who loves to talk and meet his clientele.


michael siano ★ assistant general manager

Michael has been with CLB Restaurants for just under 9 years.  He started as a Busser and Foodrunner in 2010 at our Dublin location while in high school. He continued at Dublin working as the Brunch Captain for 3 years upholding the Matt The Miller's standard of our awesome Sunday Brunches!  From there he moved positions to Server and Bartender at both our Dublin and Grandview locations.  Michael later returned solely to Dublin in 2017 and from there was offered the Assistant General Manager position at our Gemini location.  He remained at Gemini for just under a year before returning to Grandview to work alongside Steve Paul.  Michael, having worked at all of our Columbus locations, has a great sense of our brand and continues to show it through his hard work and dedication to the company.  

Michael enjoys playing golf, traveling, diving into the Columbus craft beer scene, and spending time with his friends and family.    


ELEAZAR BERISTAIN ★  EXECUTIVE CHEF

Eleazar began his culinary career at Champs working as a line cook. He worked extremely hard & the chefs realized that they had a talent in him. He learned how to work every station in the kitchen & was quickly promoted to a supervisory role. Eleazar spent 12 years working for Champs.

After Champs, Eleazar took his desire for learning & his hard work ethic to Matt the Miller's in Grandview in 2012. He started out as a line cook but again was quickly moved out of that role to the Assistant Sous Chef. Eleazar worked under some great chefs & was promoted to Executive Chef in July 2018. He is a master of all stations & works non stop from the time he clocks in until the time that he leaves. He is a great teacher in the kitchen & is well liked by our entire staff.

On his off days, Eleazar enjoys hiking & spending time & vacationing with his kids.


KAYLA KOPP ★  SOUS CHEF

Kayla was born and raised in the Columbus area, and began cooking and baking in high school for her family and friends. She started working at Panera and began to love the cooking process and the restaurant flow. After high school, she attended Columbus State Community College Sous Chef Apprenticeship Program. She did her apprenticeship through BBRG at the Bon Vie location in Easton Town Center. While starting as a prep cook the chefs continued to push her to grow and to learn all of the stations as a line cook. Within a year she became a team leader and continued to learn orders and more about the managerial side of things. As she finished her apprenticeship program she realized that she wanted to expand her knowledge for baking. She started taking classes at Columbus State for her Pastry Chef Degree. In May of 2018, she graduated with her Sous Chef Degree and then in December of 2018 she graduated with her Pastry Chef Degree. She joined the Matt The Miller's team at the end of May 2018.

 

In her free time she enjoys; being outdoors, hiking, baking, and spending time with her friends and family and her cat.
